How to buy
Our fabric is sold in fat quarters or half metre lengths. If you purchase multiple fat quarters, they will be individually cut. If you purchase multiple half metres, they will be a continuous length of fabric. Note that we usually only list a few metres of each fabric at any time, however we usually have more in stock - feel free to check with us for larger amounts.
What is a fat quarter?
Fabric is usually sold by the linear metre, so a quarter metre of fabric would usually be 25 cm long by the width of the roll (usually about 112 cm). A fat quarter is cut at 50 cm long by half the width of the roll - giving you a square-ish piece of fabric that is often a more practical size to use.
What's that in inches?
Fat quarter = 50 cm x 56 cm = 19.6 in x 22 in
Half metre = 50 cm x 112 cm = 19.6 in x 44 in
One metre = 39.4 inches = 1.09 yards
A standard USA fat quarter is 18 inches x 21 inches, so ours are a bit larger.
I'm making beeswax wraps - how much fabric do I need?
120 grams of beeswax blend is enough to wax around half a metre of fabric, or two fat quarters. Keep it simple with a single pattern, or mix and match - your choice!
